So the b22 SSSE3 sounds better than SSE4?

121.254.109.23

That's very intriguing. I'm very happy with SSE4, but I'll do a serious comparison after giving my new mobo a few more days to burn-in.

For those interested, the new MB I'm referring to is the GA-EG45M-UD2H, the only Intel board with integrated graphics in the Ultra Durable 3 family (I erroneously linked the EP45-UD3P in the posts I made a couple days ago).

Initially, the G45M was barely listenable. The SQ was *bad*, and I felt that even my daily use PC sounded better. However, after leaving the system playing in the background for a few hours, I couldn't help but notice that the bass sounded detailed, and extension at the low end bettered my previous GA-G31M-S2L setup. Intrigued, I powered off my amp and decided to give the MB an entire day before making any further judgements.

I'm glad that I gave the UD2H a second chance. The treble and mid-highs still sound a bit harsher than the G31M, but the improvement in bass is easily noticeable. What really excites me, however, is how the new setup seem to "unleash" energy in the music, which makes recordings sound more "live"ly and natural. I expect the SQ to improve after more burn-in. I also intend to work on optimizing the BIOS settings during the weekend.

I strongly encourage the daring (or bored) inmates to give this MB a chance. You won't be disappointed :-)
