Stunning

Dear cics,

Just when I thought you had surely exhausted any chance of a major improvement you give us this.

I think you sell it short saying that it is limited to the high frequencies. I hear improvement all across the spectrum. The bass is more powerful and yet more sharply defined. Whereas some earlier iterations seemed to have a bit too much bass this has that abundance with control. I like this very much.

There is so little glare left that I must assume what is there is part of the recording. Much glare I thought was part of my room is no longer a hindrance with louder passages. Many things I thought were just the way it is are now found to not be so.

Listening to the EBBETS LP transfer of Beatle's records is still revealing of something missing in the CD itself. These I downloaded in FLAC from from the internet. I converted to WAV and for lack of a better way to transfer to my MUSIC COMPUTER I had to make a CD copy. STILL, these recordings display qualities unlike "regular" CD's. Maybe it is simply euphonic LP sounds (who knows what equipment was used? In fact, if someone does know I would love to be told) but they (even through all of the transmogrifications) sound very nice and especially better than ever with this latest refinement.

cics, you are quite a fellow!!!

I found an interesting thing: if one has loaded an album into cPLAY one can turn off the hard drive and it keeps on playing. I have not listened critically to a record with the HDD power on and off. One has to wonder if it would make much difference? Another motor not sending its mischief into the the MB? When one turns the drive back on the computer shuts down (blue screen and long message).

Simply stunning.

Thanks (just doesn't say it sufficiently),

Rick McInnis
