RE: Calling seger Re: juli@ drivers/software

No, I don't take out the soundcard - but for mystery problems, a bit of physical attention to the component sometimes helps (also a mystery!).
Running the infclear.exe, and clicking Remove Drivers completely removes all the drivers. It doesn't leave any driver files in Windows system32. The reason this 1.23 file works to uninstall the 1.04 drivers is that all the names of the driver files in the two versions are the same, and 1.23 was designed to work in XP, while 1.04 was actually intended for Vista.
To install new drivers, cics way is fine, and I guess it works in minlogon. I have always gone out of minlogon, started the necessary Services, and then uninstalled/installed. To install 1.04 drivers from the normal (not minlogon) desktop, usually Windows starts the process after rebooting, but if it doesn't, I use the "UnInstall_32.exe" file in the Juli@-x2v-v1_04\win32 folder and click the "Update" button, which gets the process going. As a last resort I would go to Device Manager, or use the "Add Hardware" wizard, but in fact I haven't had any problems for a long time now.
