To be fair to Juanita you may have overlooked one possiblity ...

I'd venture the chances are good to excellent that you the designer having performed countless comparisons, know by now pretty close to exactly what to expect when making a single config change. The audible change is real and quite predictable pert near every time. In fact, your ears have become conditioned and hence quite keen to hearing such changes.

The audible changes / improvements you hear from such changes are not quite like experiencing the birth of a new world and in fact the bulk of such config changes most likely relatively minor yet still distinctly audible.

Assume for the sake of argument that Jim's ears like many others, aren't quite as well-trained as yours and also assume for sake of argument that Jim's playback system is a bit less revealing than yours.

Remembering that few have heard the number of minor but still distinct audible changes you encounter routinely, it can become rather easy to understand that even one with relatively well-trained ears might miss what you never miss.

But again, that possible explanation included assumptions for sake of argument. But still a possible explanation you may have overlooked no matter how remote it may be.
