That is exactly my point. The quality of both print magazines dropped sharply when they went monthly. Just because you had "reviewed" the speakers before you reviewed a DAC with them, it is not at all like having speakers that you know inside-out after having lived with them for many months or even years.

This is why I see things on audio forums that are often more insightful than I see in magazines these days. Nobody can afford to change a major component once or twice a month. Since that is the boat the reviewers are in, they wil be unable to reach the level of discernment where they will be of use to many readers.

The reviewer is supposed to know more that the reader, just as the music teacher is suppose to know more than the student.
