I can only go by my previous experiences. I sold a "well used" integrated amplifier on Audiogon - the buyer interpreted the "well used" as meaning in excellent condition. Which is not what I meant at all. This guy wanted a hundred dollars but I told him I wanted the amp back and split shipping costs - and I felt bad because the buyer was out one way shipping because the ad was not clear - even though I thought he was too stupid to live.

There's no way to know if this seller would have refunded his buyers money if a mistaken buyer realized his error. I kind of doubt it and given the wording in his auction and his follow-up actions I think he was banking on finding a buyer that would be mislead by his advertising.
