They are "used" not "like new" because if the were "like new" they would have a warranty!

I put the definition of "like" down below. Being without warrantee is a signficant difference from being new and the seller should have made it clear. How many dings and scratches should a buyer assume is on a "like new" item only XX weeks in use? If it's so obvious a "like new" product doesn't come with a warranty, how many scratches and dings should obviously come with a "like new" product that has been used?

Using your logic (and apparantly that of many others as well) why not just advertise every component as being "like new" used for XXX years. Then you can call the buyer an idiot for assuming there wasn't any dings or scratchs on a "like new" unit that was used for XXX years.

If one wants to describe something as being "like new" there should be no difference between it and a new unit other than the box has been opened. Any other differences between it and a new unit should be clearly described in the ad.

This unit is similar to a "used" unit that had been in service for several years and is in "mint" condition. This seller is trying to misrepresent the condition of his amp inorder to get someone to pay a higher price than is reasonable. His amp is not "like new" and since it doesn't have a warrantee his amp is "like used".
