It does not surprise me that companies are monitoring eBay. McIntosh products have been the subject of quite a few scams on eBay in at least the past year. It is amazing how many of their current high end tube amps are being sold "new in box" with pay by Western Union in the payment terms. Most have been caught and deleted. Companies monitor the site for stolen products being sold. In the past fencing was localized and moving large amounts of merchandise was difficult. With eBay, it is now easy.
