I agree with that. So many only come to a lawyer after getting into a dispute and need the lawyer to clean it up. I the lawyer prevails, the guy was right all along and the lawyer was only needed becasue of the system the lawyer is part of. If the lawyer does not prevail, he is incompetent and a bum.

A lot of persons though think of the lawyer as a combination devil and conscience. They look to him to come up with all the negetives (we're then generally called deal killers) and then have to come up with the solutions. Other times we are hired to keep the objectives of the clients in perspective and direct the client towards the clients long term goals (usually called planning).

Here Wayne may have missed the conscience part of the practice - or not. McIntosh does not really want a batch of buyers calling or service and having Mc tell them there is no warranty and go back to the seller if there is an issue. I think as a company I'd prefer heading it off at the time of the sale rather than after. The original owner knows what he got and there should b e no surprises but on resales I could see some unhappy owners with no way for Mc to make them happy except to give them a warranty to placagte them. I'd like to see Mc possibly do as auto companies do, transfer warranties through a transfer registration process. I think it would address their concerns and be equitable for owners. Doess it reallty make a difference if the 5 year warranty is during the stewardship on 1 owner or multiple owners. It also impedes allowing for tradeups whixh could be a plus for Mc dealers as a marketing tool.
