RE: Tidal

True enough, John.

I prefer to deal with what is, as opposed to what if's. There are currently no hi-rez streaming services that offer a catalog anywhere near the size of Tidal's, so the entire 'no need to reduce file size' conversation is - in theory.

In other words, people can stream CD-quality and better *today* from Tidal, whose catalog is millions of albums and grows each week, for $20/mo. That, to me, is the most exciting, and relevant, news in digital audio. Since anyone can get a free trial Tidal HiFi account, there's no reason not to try it.

I very much prefer to listen to music as opposed to arguing about what if's on hi-fi forums ;-)
