"MQA is presented as an improvement in sound quality"

Presented as an improvement in sound quality by whom? By MQA? Who else?

And an improvement over what? hi res PCM files? CD quality PCM files?

And an improvement played on what equipment? PCM files played on a Meridian dac with Meridian digital filters at a MQA press event? Or played on a dac with which the listener is intimately familiar?

Doug Schneider's point is that it's very difficult to find references that unequivocally say: I compared x res PCM files with MQA files for these recordings with an MQA supported dac, I also listened with another dac that I know for the PCM files. In y percent of cases I preferred the MQA files, including when blind testing, for these reasons.
