Definitely, but...

Hi,

We could definitely do bullshit comparisons all day long, every week of the year. The problem is, true apples-to-apples comparisons are what matter, which means starting with the same masters...

Well over a year ago now, I offered Bob recordings done by a producer/engineer friend of mine, also interested in the technology at that time, who has many commercial recordings dating back decades, including analog-to-digital transfers, as well as extremely early pure digital. He was willing to supply at all resolutions since he's recorded thousands of songs over the years. It would've been a great point of comparison -- but Bob never followed up doing so. From what I understand, Mark Waldrep also supplied recording to Bob for the same kinds of apples-to-apples comparisons, but never received anything back.

The lack of proper comparison material is the problem.
