...Curious; How large a factor is absolute number of alerts recd in the moderation process? Do "alerts" from some persons carry more (or less) weight than others?

While this is a private site and you can operate it in any (legal?) manner you see fit, your description above of role of "alerts" in the moderation process seems to make things susceptible to a "ganging up" or "pile on" mentality. Maybe even a "tyranny of the majority" situation.
