RE: Fidelizer---Not That Thrilled With It!

I don't know if the is the right place to bring this up, but I have always wondered about the regular mentions of latency in the context of computer audio.

I can understand that minimising latency is desirable when recording audio from multiple source and trying to mix them all, but I can't understand how latency impacts playaback.
Maybe I am misunderstanding the context of the word in relation to playback...

Can anyone explain?
