Fidelizer---Not That Thrilled With It!

I am running a new Asus 14' Laptop with the Intel i3 Processor, 4gb of ram, Windows 7 64 bit OS, and a WD USB3 1TB hard drive. One reason I bought the Asus is because it has a USB3 port. I am running J Rivers Media Center 16. I am running a USB2 output through a Wireworld Starlight USB cable into a Musical Fidelity V-Link. From there, the signal is outputted via the coaxial output with a Wireworld Starlight 6 coax cable into my Wyred DAC 1.

I truly love my system as it stands and sounds. Like any audiophile I thought I would up the ante and use Fidelizer 2.1 in Audiophile mode to optimize my laptop for music. I should note that all files on the hard drive are ripped into FLAC at the highest possible quality. When I first used Fidelizer, I noticed the sound seemed a little bit thinner, especially in the bass. Just to be sure, I played 5 different artists and they all sounded a little less than full. I rebooted and played my music files WITHOUT Fidelizer and all the good sound came back. I repeated this for almost 3 hours and I can say that on my system, Fidelizer thins out the sound.

From what I understand about the Fidelizer program, it Prioritizes the Windows software to make more memory available to the music software & also changes the priority of the Windows services and changes certain aspects of the cpu's computing power (or something like that). So then, why would this change the way my system sounds when using it? Can anyone chime in if they have had a similar experience or their thoughts on all of this? Or, am I just crazy?

Bob
