As a followup, I don't particularly like the McIntosh ss amps

66.177.115.111

I have owned and heard. They're ok but not spectacular and I have heard better. My only point is that I know their components are very well built to last a very long time; so I do not think their policy of non-transferable warranties has anything at all to do with their build quality. Many folks are still using unmodified and unrepaired Mc equipment 30 and 40 years old with great results. FYI, I am hardly a Mc fanatic; I own a MR 67 tuner with a myriad of other gear. I cannot afford Mc gear. If I could I might try an older tube amp on my Acoustat speakers. And, I don't think other brands like Bryston and others take a back seat to Mc whatsoever. I just want to put my point in perspective.
