General audio topics that don't fit into specific categories.

What I think is critical is that we get an accurate and final disposition on this matter because....

...if indeed McIntosh is "jerking" it's customers around in this manner we all should know. I love McIntosh products (I only own vintage stuff at this time) but I sure would like to know if they have taken a different position on customer support and satisfaction, or lack thereof.

That's a lot of years of hard work in establishing one of the best names in audio to throw away because a lawyer/management thinks it's more important to deal with petty things than it is to maintain the wonderful reputation McIntosh has established.

Bottom line is if this is true and accurate we should know about it and act however each individual feels they should regarding any future financial support of McIntosh and related companies. If McIntosh did not act unreasonably we should know this also. So, PLEASE let us know the final outcome.

Sorry to go on like this but I think this is a very important situation for us audio people. To threaten a customer with legal action and then get Ebay to support the attorney is inexcusable and both parties should be accountable for their actions with apologies forthcoming, assuming they are in error. By the way, even if the ad "accidentally" infered a warrantee what's so difficult about McIntosh writing the seller and asking for clarification or correction of his Ebay listing. AA has more power (AC and DC) than we may realize when it comes to making a company/manufacturer acountable.
