As a lawyer, and someone who went through this with McIntosh

the key quetion is does your ad falsely imply the warranty is tranferrable?
This is a sticky question; because you may have the legal right, under STATE law, to transfer the warranty.

But, if you decide the warranty is not transferrable, the next question is, "Does your ad falsely imply otherwise?"

IF "Yes", the lawyer did you a favor, rather then you being sued by the buyer.

If no, let him know he has wrongfully interferred with the prospective contractual advantage of the sale of the merchandise, and you will sue McIntosh in your local small claims court for the value of the amp, had it been allowed to sell on eBay. Find other comps on Audiogon to buttreess your damage amount.

You could also lower the tempers by designing an ad, submitting it to McIn-lawyer, getting his OK, to the wording, and resubmitting to eBay. Or buy a warranty in the open market, and include it with the amps.

But hey, what do I know; I am
