Re: Only in Pat D's World....

If Pat D could/would stop his constant babbling about if it's a 3ft interconnect, or 10ft speakerwire and all components are operating correctly and UNLESS a DBT is passed then it's been proven that the differences are inaudible, I'll stop caring about what's been posted.

Well there are those (and I'm not saying Pat D is, I haven't read all his posts) who seem to believe that the lack of proof for something inherently constitutes proof against it. And that's not right. At best all you can say is that there is no proof of it. Period.

I just don't want some new audiophile/music lover to accept Pat D's or another Objectivists beliefs as facts. This group NEVER says they are just their beliefs, but rather states these things as if they are proven facts and that's what bothers me.

Ok. But does that bother you any more than those in the "other group" who make claims of actual audibility and expect those same new audiophiles/music loves to accept that as fact?

It also bothers me when anyone who claims to hear differences in wires is a "wacko" fooling themselves, or a lover of euphonic colorations etc.

Understandable. But by the same token, those who choose to go beyond simply sharing their subjective experiences shouldn't get their panties in a bunch when their claims are questioned or challenged.

You, me or anyone else can believe what they want about audio. I have no problems with that at all. What bothers me is when Objectivists start stating opinions as if they were facts.

Again, understandable. However on Cable Asylum, so-called "subjectivists" routinely state opinions as if they were facts. Have you taken any of them to task for doing so?
