Sony's sacd literature shows a pretty good 10khz square wave (compared to the input) versus a 'sine wave looking replica' attempt of 16/44 pcm. That, now, is a definitive test of high frequency accuracy IMO.I bet 24/96 can't reproduce a 10khz square wave as good as sacd either. But I'm speculating that 24/192 might be close. But as Michael Bishop says elsewhere on this thread, sacd still sounds better, albeit slightly better, than 24/192.
My premise though is that square wave performance will be a definitive bench test to compare the accuracy of either format.
