He had a respectable periodical in the '80's called International Audio Review (IAR). He did , what IMO were, some groundwork articles on the science of wires, capacitors, resistors and phono cartridges. His studies were exhaustive (but not long and rambling like this one here) in that they scanned several issues/talked basic science and comparative brand listening. I enjoyed him then quite a lot. Even Harry Pearson often referred to him as J Meter Pontiff as a type of sign of worthy competition (at least that was my take on the 'play on words name' he assigned him).Yes he was a little goofy with his measurements concluding that the Oracle was 634 times more accurate than the darling of the day Linn Sondek. But he was fundamentally sound in his science, fairly accurate AFAICT in his listening recommendations. Now he sounds like a different person. One almost over the edge.
