RE: You clever lad!

By tail I just meant the flex circuit that connects the touch screen to the stuff that reads it. The panels are about 200 ohms in each axis so it's low enough to do a bit of shielding.

I think it's fair to say that imagers and displays are electrically similar seeing as how they are both raster scan devices. I wouldn't think that imager lenses would be much of a concern for ESD or EMC however since they are so small, but I bet some sort of metalization would clean up any problems. We got some new house windows a few years ago that have metalization to, I think, reflect heat. They also do a fine job shielding RF giving the almost paradoxical situation where if I want my cell phone or ISM band modem to work I've got to get away from the windows and shoot through the walls. Fortunately? the cheapskates that built our house didn't spring for foil backed insulation our I'd never hear from the mother ship...
