I suspect the LCD signaling is fairly similar to the type of signaling necessary for CMOS and CCD sensors which I had become quite intimate with at my last position. You start talking about much throughput and those get to be some screaming fast signals. IOW I'm a bit of a ringer.

That is interesting indeed. By the tail are you referring to the screen lens (ie glass or whatever)? In my imager days I used to dream about highly conductive lenses but the best I could come up with was an optically clear ESD coating which didn't prove to really be noticeable in my low fi non calibrated EMI detection station I built out of discarded gear that I found lying around the lab.
