Of course they knew what they were trying to stop:

"It also utilizes two additional shields for rejection of RFI, digital, and other electromagnetic pollution."

There really is nothing further to discuss.""

A copper shield that is less than 2 inches wall thickness, cannot stop 60 hz magnetic intrusion..

Two shields, each 1 inch thick, cannot stop 60 hz.

If you were to put that line cord into a 4 inch diameter copper rod that has a half inch bore down the middle, you will indeed stop the 60 hz intrusion...but then, you've done absolutely nothing to reduce the ground loop pickup, have you.

So, what is it they were trying to stop? Their solution is completely ineffective for loop pickup. It may be great for RFI, but that's it.

It is simply a bandaid approach. Patch this, patch that, that is why the audio world has so many bandaids, they ignore the design of the system.

Cheers, John
