Hey, I’m not disagreeing, there are real mechanisms that can cause a cable to have an audible or measurable impact on a signal or the equipment they are connected to.
Given how different the properties of the pre-amps and amplifiers are so far as input and source impedance’s, it is dead wrong to say flat out there is NO effect.

People want simple answers, ones that ring true deep down. Often, technical things are disappointingly complicated and express themselves in layer on layer of effects, which is hard to keep the magnitude of each in mind.

Conversely, what I have heard from some of the more rabid cable heads makes me a little ill, describing things which don’t apply at audio frequencies or at all in the electronics engineering I am familiar with. Too much of this is marketing spiel using the "plausable mumbojumbo" approach so popular in our TV driven culture.
