Climate change is a different matter. The turbulence and heat and mass transfer models are rather inexact.
In the case of audio in PCs, it is the multitude of information which is held back or not available which makes it difficult to do.
The amount of money generated thru MS and Intel sales should make it quite possible for these companies to model the processess if they want to, or see it commercially advatages to.
Instead, we have a situtaion in IT wherby nobody seems to shoulder blame or responsibility if something doesn't work properly. The amount of business and individual resources wasted in getting programs and hardware to work properly must run into billions! Just read some of the posts here.
