I didnt have enough toe in, but I do now.
I think Brian deliberately designed these to be toed in, perhaps because of a slight peak on axis in the midrange ribbons that isnt audible slightly off axis
W/o enough toe in, i was getting a SLIGHT hands cupped round the mouth coloration on some female voices, It could have been my room, but when I did the right toe in, it disappeared.Hey, you are a dealer for these things, tell me something ?
Mine are bi wire spirals TRT's w/o the switch.
Is the putty supposed to be factory tuned ?
I have removed about a Pea sized amount, and my settings are a slight midrange decrease from stock, and I had to also turn the tweeters down to about 12.30/
Midrange is almost 1 o clock.
This seems to work best, for now.
BUT, rare Mullards and RCA black plates are on the way!!
This can change.
What toe in do you like ?
And what about levels ?Hey, by the way, a killer CD for tuning 40's is The Verve Pipe's sone "freshmen"
Are you hip to it ?
It starts with a well recorded male voice, then the instruments come in, then the voice increases in intensity, and easily reveals faulty passive tuning.
Then, the whole end of the room explodes in imaging, and the song gets louder until one gets blown away.
You gotta hear it on the 40's man!
