a Blue Circle BC 24 on top. Should have tried some tube sound on top long ago. I've read enough times how magical tubes and planar/ribbons are. I did have an ARC LS 16 but bass was lacking. This may have been because my input impedance on my amps was too low though too.The Blue Circle has changed my world. I can't believe how much more real the music sounds, much fuller and natural. All the transistor sound is long gone.
Your friend needs to dial in his RM 40's. This may not be easy depending on the room and equipment. As you now know these speakers are super transparent. Speaker position and tweaking of the controls on the speaker must be done too. If he has no room treatment that would be a great thing to do. I consider room treatment mandatory as it's easily the second most important part of an audio system.
The Innersound is an excellent amp but clearly isn't as good of a match with the RM 40's.
