...and I can almost assure you that they would fail your scratch-n-sniff test on all counts.However, knowing a thing or two about Tim's taste in equipment and speakers, I would unequivocally recommend the Orions to him.
Btw, I'm happy to hear that you've found joy in your speaker selection. Hopefully it will be long lived, as I've been told that once you're a VMPS customer, you're one for life. :)
