Discuss a review. Provide constructive feedback. Talk to the industry.

At least you are getting an unbiased view

It's not that those who disagree with the reviewers question their honesty. That is above reproach because of the method used to conduct testing. Actually, I think that they are single blind tests, not DBTs. It's a matter of opinion rather than questioning the motives of the reviewers. (There is also the issue of product variation, a fact of life more or less in wine to a far greater degree than in audio equipment.) In fact, previously all reviews were not only blind but done by panels so the reatings were a consensus. Of course, wine tasting is admittedly purely subjective and there is no way to test against an objective independent reference the way there is with audio equipment such as testing wires against a shunt or loudspeakers against live music. Admitting to disagreements between readers and reviewers expressing their opinions is not a confession of dishonesty, it is a realization that in purely subjective matters, it's a matter of each indivicual opinion. Most interesting of all is when the reviewers who work for the same magazine and test under identical conditions disagree with each other and discuss it. When do you see that in your audio magazines?
