Pat, here's a bone...

Ok, perhaps they do *in a clinical research setting* where the blind tests are well designed and controlled.

Four out of five pschoacousticians can't be wrong.

But...this is an audio hobbyist group and it's not even nearly the same.

So for you to make that kind of a blanket statement - and try to apply it here - is going to require some kind of evidence.

Otherwise, you make yourself look silly saying something like that unsupported and demanding evidence for claims from others.

Hypocritical, perhaps?

So here is the real question:

Are amateur audio hobbyist blind tests comparing audible differences between audio components (other than speakers) using music, more reliable than sighted listening?

I'm going to call myself an expert and from my experience, I say they are *less reliable*, especially for small differences.

I don't have evidence other than my own experience and discussions with numerous audiophiles.

Blind listening is useless to me and to them.
