ophth, I am in a quandary. I have personally invested in test equipment for the last 40+ years, but I am not a test and research lab. I have improved my measurements, over the years, by personal modifications of my existing test equipment, and adding surplused test equipment as it becomes available.
So far as I can tell, there is nothing wrong with my test equipment. It works consistently to measure what I tend to measure in different interconnects. I can't fix what does not appear to be broken.
I have contacted associates who are familiar with both ST and AP components. Some have and use both.
I have acertained that the latest AP equipment has a very low residual distortion, certainly much better than the ST, however, in the area that I am concerned with, higher order harmonics, 5th harmonic and above, I have a fairly clear region of measurement.
Essentially the AP cascade and the ST-HP combination are using the same test principles, but the AP has lower residual distortion, lower order at least.
I do not know Bruno, and he has not made any effort to contact me either, at this point. Perhaps we can resolve this together.
When it comes to me putting out $30,000 dollars of my own money for a similar measurement system, is just not in my budget. However, if any of you wish to disregard my measurement graphs of wires, you are certainly within your rights to do so.
However this is not what is really going on. What is really going on is the defense of a paradigm. Mainly, that wire can't have crossover distortion. This is the paradigm strongly defended by SE and Jneutron, among others. So long as I challenge that paradigm, I and many others like myself, will be accused of:"delusion, hallucination, group hallucination , mass hallucination, mere coincidence, sheer coincidence, or sloppy research" It would seem that in this case, I would be accused of the last of these. Other times I am accused of some of the others.
