RE: Where are the "null results" in sighted non-SPL matched comparisons?

"You are SO concerned about subtle effects not always audible?

Speak for yourself. As for myself, I recently did a comparison of two hi-res files created with different downsampling software. I was trying to decide which one I preferred, but this was quite difficult, in that some of the time they sounded the same, and some of the time different. I never heard more than a slight difference, less than would have been caused by a 1 db change in level or a between opening and closing the curtains in my room. In addition, while mastering recordings I have sometimes made tiny level adjustments and tiny EQ adjustments that are barely audible. For me, at least, this is a common situation. I experience it all the time, in both sighted and unsighted auditions.

But, perhaps the problem is that I need a new Kazoo, oops, new wires... Or perhaps new ears. :-(
