Re: I got it.

I did not question his preference to any particular property of his sound system etc.

Statement was
"...for me a hifi system has to reproduce faithfully, not to sound good."

You concentrated only on the first part of the statement, forgetting the second.

I could write essay on the above for which I have no time or interest, so just few notes:

1) If system would be accurate in absolute sense (whatever that is) that it would sound good (assuming good recording).

2) Also, if it does not sound good it can not be accurate (whatever that is).

3) Accurate, as some pointed out is elusive goal in a real life, can anyone define what exactly characteristic would you look for in a system to consider it accurate.

(Btw, my preference is not pleasantness, that can be achieved easily and cheaply)
