As far as BC stuff, I have only heard the highly touted 100 watt integrated. Let's say I was underwhelmed. But that very well may have been in the context of the syetem that I heard it. It ran out of gas very quickly for a 100 watt amplifier. Your BC pre, in your system may be an entirely different ballgame. That nasty, highly exotic, stepped volume control can be smoothed out by changing the springs in it.
