I would be happy to build A5's website free of charge if nobody more appropriate and hi-tech stepped up to the plate. Consider the offer on the table -:)Say 50 manufacturers signed up (starry-eyed, I know). Each pays a yearly membership fee of $2,000 (for argument's sake). $100K right there. Let's say this budget does *nothing* but advertise in music-based mags. This could do *something* if the ad was designed properly. "A5 presents: Get satisfaction from listening to music on something that fondles your music Jones." Not.
I'm also thinking that someone with the gift of gab (Corey Greenberg of yore - street, hip, irreverent) could write a column for Rolling Stones mag on audio per se (rather than reviews). It'd take the right kind of writer (clearly not me)...
Lotsa pubs, dailies and weeklies look for free content all the time. Audio journalists could contribute to a stock pile of "free for all" content that someone inside A5 would feed to the appropriate channels.
It remains to be seen whether this concept and discussion thereof on this page is the right forum. If not (because no other manufacturers chime in), it could suggest that a dedicated site/website/forum for industry members might be necessary seeing most such professionals have neither the time nor inclication to sift thru banter and abuse but might take the time if the information was relevant to them and truly focused?
