Audiophile snobbery

Some points:

>The average Joe does not have the trained ears or music memory that we audiophiles have.<

Where are the audiophiles who followed training courses for acquiring listening skills? If you further cared to read perceptional science literature you would quickly put that "music memory" idea to rest.

>Bingo! They get it!<

You really think that that's enough? As long as high-end price tags are what they are, high-end will not gain market shares, that's for sure.

>The A5 needs to write a comprehensive, yet very simplistic pamphlet that explains what accurate and natural sound reproduction is all about.<

That's a good one! Since when is high-end supposed to care about accurate reproduction? I just need to look at measurements of high-end speakers to see that they are everything but accurate.

>In the end, its all about education of the masses and advertising. <

That's a another good one? Since when does the fact of simple ownership of a high-end system provide a basis for EDUCATION? What can audiophiles TEACH the average Joe?

I think that you have to face it, high-end is dying because it's much too expensive for what it is and the "average Joe" does not see any reason whatsoever to spend big bucks to listen to his favorite tunes. The fact of simply making him aware of the existance of high-end audio will not be sufficient, you'd have to provide very good reasons to make him open his cheque book. And "you audiophiles" will have to change attitude, audiophile snobbery and arrogance and golden eared wisdom simply repels people, it certainly repels me.
