Thanks for the replies guys.
I was thinking iMac mini + MF V-Link would be neat and cheapish. I am not sure wether to go Coax and RCA (I use AN AN-V interconnections) or try Balanced (would need a decent cable for that I guess?).
So you guys reckon there was no quality drop from a good CDP. And I presume you brined the CD originals on a cheapo PC or Mac optical drive right?
It sounds nuts, to have either the same or better sound from a CD copy via extra electrical devices (Mac and HD + USB convertor) in the chain, and get no loss?
I do hope is as good. I dig the flexibility and ease of use.
Do you still have a good CDP? Or is that dumpled / sold and you burn everything to lossless on a Mac with the cheapo built in optical.
