Many thoughts on burning, Mac vs PC and Exact Audio Copy. You can use MAX on Mac for some customized ripping, but labor intensive IMO. I just use iTunes with error correction turned on, and rip on my MacBookPro with its superdrive.
iTunes = free, with a very inexpensive BitPerfect (app store) will get you the important bells and whistles of bit perfect output (with auto setting of the output rate, and to give the program exclusive access to the device. Playing from memory rounds out the 3 most important things for good playback.
The Amarra and Fidelia, and many of the others do things with the music, re-sampling and other "tricks" to improve the sound... Comes with a price tag.
Luckily you can trial most of the many Mac based software playback software to see if you like the sound.
Since our ANK Dac is limited to 18/96 input, upsampling/resampling does not serve much purpose.
