Obviously you didn't read any of the info. on the tech talk page of the Spectron website. It clearly states that when using the digital input, it stays digital all the way to the speaker terminals.
"Much as the switch from analog to digital allowed for perfect, noise free copies without generation loss, keeping your music pure digital right up to the speaker jacks can offer significant audio improvement." John also says that." This will eliminate at least two and more typically three or more stages of DA (digital to analog) and AD (analog to digital) for the purest signal processing possible, which is... none. Even the best AD/DA converters and equipment incrementally add noise, distortion, quantizing errors and delay."I also was under the impression that it would be an internal dac that would be used. I talked to Toni, John's wife, some time ago and asked her the question, when will the dac for the Musician II be available, she said there is no dac. At first I thought she didn't really know too much about the technical side of things but she was right, there is no internal dac.
I know they have been promising the digital input for quite some time now. I really hope that it will be ready in March when it is promised.
