Yup, I'm not surprised

Yup, I'm not surprised - the biggest compliment I'd heard paid the Spectron on this board was that the owner felt it was the "proverbial straight wire with gain". I remember quotes like that, because that's what I search for - neutrality every step of the way, nothing added or lost - it's the best way to get out of the way of the music.

From what others have said of the panny too, it's extremely revealing of the rest of the chain, power cables, digital cables, isolation, etc - so it's not surprising the Spectron is similarly revealing. This is all damn good news to me, revealing is what I want in my equipment, right back to the source!
