I can speak for the GR research x-over upgrade on my Klipsch rp-600 as a worthy endeavor. Noticeable improvement.
If your comfortable doing the work I'd give it a try on your 1.7.

I too was looking at his Maggie upgrades, but for my 1.7i. Different x-over and Danny was not familiar with i's difference. Hopefully, he will tear apart some 1.7i's one day
