You highlight what someone, maybe around Here has called the 2 'classes' of audio guy.

Type 'A':: Buys music and listens to his GEAR
Type 'B': Buys equipment and listens to his MUSIC

I've never had the $$$ or the inclination to be a gear churn person....

I have a Kenwood Integrated from late 70s (Model KA-7100) out in the garage right now. Very musically satisfying but I'm giving it a good going over. It sat for a long time and I'm slowing reviving it.
