I know the feeling

of playing stacks of vinyl and running into newish territory. I just started doing that myself but I haven't catalogued any of that yet.

But to expand, these are good recommendations for everyone here.

Ben Tavera King, a tex-mex guitar virtuoso. The recording "Border Crossings" is the best one to get since that is the most original achievement.

Billy Paul Williams "Miles to Go". This is extremely good music that no critic seems to recognize. Since I got this cd from BMG for 5.99 a few months ago, I cannot say how many times I have played it.

Someone mentioned "KInd of Blue". This is a must own jazz classic.

Someone mentioned Charlie Haden. Almost all of his stuff is worth getting. At least I try to get everything.

Someone mentioned Stan Getz. "The Essential Stan Getz" is incredibly good and incredibly sweet and feeling oriented.

Willie Nelson "Stardust". Another sweet and feeling oriented cd.

You have to consider Paul Simon as an incredible artist. "Graceland" is something quite special.
