Hello-- I've got a pair of MG2As in dire need of a tweeter rework. Since Magenepan-apparently-has disavowed or rather refuses to acknowledge the existence of this speaker (I can't get past the operator and I'm still awaiting the call back from technical) the Planar Asylum seems to be my best bet. Does anyone out (in?)there have a step-by-step protocol for re-wiring the tweeter mylar? Is there a source for the aluminum wire, other than Magnepan? Has anyone tried using 36g silver wire for the twweeter grid? How about THE glue of choice--thin, low mass, and sonically transparent? Please, if someone can be of assistance I'd be really appreciative but please, just the facts-- Scanning the postings finds a lot of maybe this-,might be that-, or other musings. Hope someone can help-- I don't really want to turn these things into ironing boards just yet. Thanks.
