Thanks for the input! So ix-nay on the silver wire--although I read a post whereby someone with some MG1Cs did just that... The Aluminum foil concept sounds interesting--seems you'd achieve a better coupling of the current-bearing element to the mylar, but I reckon there'd be other secondary considerations to take into account--foil mass vs. wire mass, impedance changes, etc. But I'm no EE... I haven't a clue on tweeter impedance--though now it's probably infinity--nor do I know the values of the x-over inductors. However, I do know which end of the soldering iron to hold, especially when plugged in. Regards.
