Re: Walt Jung's website

Tom: ""Your conceptual error is that you incorrectly require a classical definition of 'nonlinear' circuit behavior to apply to a situation where the deleterious audible behavior in question is fully attributable to the multiple parasitic (linear) time constants of a high DA capacitor""

Even a "non classical definition" would be more substance than ""deleterious audible behavior...is fully attributable..""..I have a passing familiarity with FEA methods used for non linear systems, and occasionally write code and papers around that..

Any definition at all would be useful for discussion..As of now, all you've provided is non technical verbage...and I've seen no spice model elements named "deleterious audible behavior"...Even Roxio and Matlab don't have that, either as inputs, or as outputs..

What you are referring to as my "conceptual error" is what we refer to as "complete and accurate modelling". Necessary to prevent GIGO.

You seem to be trying to steer us away from accurate modelling, and towards "trust me, I hear it". My apologies if I have mis-interpreted your intent, but you haven't shown any interest in technical discussion...just hitting on any of mine as a diversion from the intent of the initial post..and from JC's poor response....

Cheers, John
