For a second, Sean, I thought that I would have to teach you to use 'Google'. ;-) Fortunately, you did it for yourself. Now, please read the paper. I just went through it, once again, and I must admit that we should have placed more emphasis on the need for an asymmetrical waveform or a musical input signal. Individual sine waves will show little on this test. 2 tones will show that you CANNOT cancel both tones at the same time, etc. Asymmetrical waves really bring out the differences between caps, at least 10,000 times difference, between the worst electrolytics and the best polystyrene or teflon caps.
A computer emulation of the test will also bring out the nature of dielectric absorption, showing the SAME basic residual waveform. I hope that this helps.
