Hi all ! I agree with Al when he made the comment on resonance . I am convinced that ,yes the way a wire is made does make a small audible difference . However , the resonance of the wire makes a larger difference in the sound . The reason blocking cables off the ground works is because you are changing the string resonance of the cable .
