I would agree that audiophiles are almost certain to find the subject unattractive but I am not sure it is viewed as terribly disturbing. I suspect it is something that is relatively easily dismissed because it is not a subject that is talked about much within the audiophile world and, unlike blind testing for example, it is not something they would come across in a range of other fields. (But I don't say this with much confidence because I remain somewhat baffled by why anybody would believe the things audiophiles seem to believe.)
